Today, we’re joined by Richard Parks III, food writer, documentarian, and creator/host/everythinger of Richard’s Famous Food Podcast. RFFP turned heads across the podcast industry for its mix of sound design, music, character voices, and overall weird, wild, and wonderful approach to telling stories about food — or, as the host might say, for “jumping into the brine.”
The show was one of the surprise hits of the last few years, and as it returns for a second season, we chat with the host about his behind-the-scenes choices, the art of subverting the status quo of a genre (when you still love the genre), and a lot more.
